Default Advanced (though it shouldn't be) warrior secret!

I can't count the number of times I've seen enemies run from my team and they chase after him/her like lemmings. The enemy [who's smart and wants to live/never gives up...] Has all the right things to stay just out of arm's reach (assuming the team is chasing him with warriors).

And now, the ULTIMATE Warrior secret that everybody in all my 90+ pvp arena games need to know. How do you kill that one enemy you just can't seem to catch/snare? How do you snuff that last annoyance that will allow you to put that mark on your wall of victory? How do you... (slap to face*)

BRING A BOW!!!!

S/He's running, s/he's got no backup, no defense, and whatever skills s/he has requires him/her to stand still to use, which s/he won't...

SHOOT HIM/HER IN THE SPINE!!!

*sorry if this sounds like a rant but what's there to stop a warrior from keeping a nice 9-13 dmg flatbow/longbow in his inventory to just kill those rangers/runners?* "I don't do damage with a bow cause I don't have ranger skills?" You will do no damage with melee if the enemy is smarter than you!

I would rather just cripple them instead of bringing a weapon that I do 2 damage with

That's where the problem lies typhoon...

They either a) use Illusion of Haste which makes ur cripple useless
or b) mend ailments/removal so that crippling them/knockdown isn't an option...

For that enemy you just can't knockdown/cripple, ur spells don't do it either, just whip out a bow/wand/ANYTHING!

I'm just letting this out as a HUGE secret because honestly, these people say I'm a noob at times when the God-like enemy they can't catch gets killed by a single arrow to the spine from my bow...

*shrug*

If it's noobish for a warrior to carry a bow/ranged weapon, then the noobs are obviously smarter than the others...

I'm a W/Mo and I have lots of stuff in smiting prayers. If they run and I can't hamstring them, I'll pull out my smiting staff and finish them from 10 feet away

Yukito Kunisaki Is right.
I'm a W/E and before I learned the skill named "Flare" I always used my bow to begin the battle from a range and when they come closer (I'm talking about mellee typ monsters) I drew my Sword And finish it.
but now I have Flare, I mostly don't use my bow anymore but I always take it with me, just in case my Energy runs out

This does make sense... I'm still searching for that 15-22 firestaff of my dreams, but anyway... I think just about every secondary has a ranged weapon, bow for rangers, canes/trunchons/wands/staves for the others... the only one who might have a problem are W/R's with no points in marksmanship...

So what would be better damage, no req lowbie bow, or max base bow you don't meet the requirements for =P anyone want to test that?

I wonder Now does Frenzy affect ranged attack speed on staves... gotta test that when I get home.

2 words "troll urgent" 10 second half health to full health regen, if you let him get away far enough away he'll cast that, while your shooting him for 2-4 damage. No respectable ranger with skill wouldn't have whirling defense which means if you hit him with a bow you would take 10 damage a shot for 20 seconds while he is evading for 15+. Your tatic comes in handy only if he has less then 50 health. Your best bet, is to trap him with players not spells. Pray he doesn't have buddies killing your team mates while their prime WA is playing with a bow with no bow skill. It has to be the wrost thought out tatic I've ever heard of.

As for wands you have skill in, fire fire fire away X'X.

You got sprint...use sprint. I don't understand the problem.

Even hamstring isn't as easy to counter as it seems. Illusion of haste costs 10 energy only lasts 5-10 seconds and takes a second to cast. Thats really not so hot. Also depending on who's running off...it might just be worth it to let the person go. Ie. A monk thats running round in circles is in no way helping the rest of his team, he is a lousy monk.

Also I'm not really sure why you're pushing the bow. Any secondary warrior class has a better ranged weapon, canes, rods etc. That sounds more logical than beating at someone for 4 damage a shot with a bow

Actually i love it when people run.. especially if its a key tank or something.

But to stick to the main point..

Why use a bow as a warrior? I mean.. honestly.

Chances are you'll miss or the person will be smart and get behind a barrier to block the projectile.

use sprint... its there and will never leave you.

using a bow on a fleeing foe will do you maybe.. one.. two damage?
And think about it - Whats the WORST thing about bows in Guild Wars?

SLOW ATTACK SPEED!

You know how far that foe can get before you could get a shot off? That does 2 damage?

use sprint, catch the fool down and do a nice final thrust or something.

When I'm on my R/E and some warrior is laying the smackdown on me, yeah I turn and kite.. I'm not worried about him pulling a ranged weapon and allowing me to get further away, if they did I would stop a bit further ahead and show them how a bow is -really- used :P.. but I AM praying that he doesn't have sprint.

I find chasing pointless... when you are up against someone who actually made their build to be capable of doing that.

The best thing you can do are psychological warfare that create a false safety for your opponent.

Of course... I guess not many people are into psychological warfare.

Eh if someone is taking to the hills on you either A. Sprint and catch them and do them in before they get to far (i think rush or bulls charge will do the same effect if your so inclined) or B. Here's a novel concept, let your ranged team mates take the runner out.

The best line I ever read, if your a warrior at the front do your job and let the other's do their job, it's a team game after all.

uh chasing? im a w/e 10. srry for being a noob, but ive been playing many pvp battles and i found that the last ones that usually run usually get cornered. i mean, if someone is running u know uve won the battle cuz they are on the defensive forever. and anyways, NOT MANY TEAMS WILL HAVE A ALL WARRIOR TEAMS. so there is no point in bringing a bow if there are other peoples in your team that has range.
